Poetry in Prose
Welcome to my website! I am Tracey Dunn, writing as Tracey-Anne Forbes (my maiden name). Here you’ll find information about my books, reviews of my work, extracts from my books, how to buy or receive free copies from my list, how to contact me and how I can help other writers out there in any way I can.
I’ve been writing since I was fourteen, when I won first prize and $10 for a story I sent to the Sunday Mail in Brisbane – all you need is one journalist on one paper to believe in you to get you started, right? Since then I’ve had poetry and short stories published in a number of Australian literary journals and magazines. Ginninderra Press accepted my collected stories (Crushed Sugar) for publication in 2007 and GP have continued to publish my work ever since. To date they have published Saving Ginia, a Verse Novel, Dangerous Places (novel) and Incandescence (novel). I have 2 more novels on the boil.
Although born in Brisbane, I have lived in many areas of Queensland as well as Scotland, England and France. I have an Arts Degree in English Literature and French, a Diploma of Education, and a Masters Degree in Creative Writing. I worked as an English teacher for 30 years.
